ALBERTA ON THE WORLD STAGEECONOMIC POWERHOUSE
Alberta’s oil sands are the solution to declining global oil reserves. Alberta has the second largest oil reserves in the world after Saudi Arabia with 175 billion barrels of oil. In addition, Alberta is also the third largest supplier of natural gas and has the 10 largest coal deposits in the world.
Capital investments of over $250 billion in the oil and gas sector has resulted in unprecedented growth in the Greater Edmonton Region’s economy.
Alberta is now heralded as Canada’s – and perhaps the world’s – most promising investment opportunity. Supported by a great historical entrepreneurial spirit, a robust economy and a fiscally responsible Government, this is the Province to invest in.
U.S. DEPENDENCE ON ALBERTA
Alberta has been the largest oil and gas supplier to the U.S. for the last six years. In today’s volatile global climate it is also its safest and most immediate source. It is only reasonable to expect U.S. dependence on Alberta’s oil and gas reserves to grow in coming years.
